What conservatives MUST change...

It is awkward, humorous, and pathetic to watch the right-wing of American politics hustle this way and that way to try and satisfy wealthy contributors, war corporations, greed corporations, and people with bent or distorted views on what constitutes morals and ethics.  Trying to change their image, conservatives and right-wingers have tried to entice Latinos and minorities.  In elections, the Republicans get very few votes from these groups.  Only gerrymandering has allowed Republicans to hold onto some of their offices.  What the Republican Party needs most of all --by far-- is something so obvious that it amazes that it is not realized.

First, let me remind you of whom the Republicans have chosen as their leaders over the past centruy:  Warren Harding, Calvin Coolidge, Joseph McCarthy, Ronald Reagan, Dan Quayle, George W. Bush, Dick Cheney...........need I say more?  That is hardly a list of intellectual heavyweights.  But today it seems to be getting even worse.  Let's consider who it is that now leads among the right-wingers [Republicans]:

Rick Perry, Newt Gingrich, Donald Trump, Sarah Palin, Herman Cain, Michele Bachmann, and a host of intellectually challenged others.  Further, consider the intellectual level of those in the media offering support: FOX, Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Washington Times, Glenn Beck, etc.  Puh-leeze!

Yes, I know the Democrats hardly have a leadership list that reflects brain power [i.e. stiff Al Gore and Senator Reid].  But when you place Hillary Clinton and John Kerry against that list above, well, need I say more?

Yet the Republicans, now beholden to anti-intellectualism, will continue to offer us candidates who are an embarrassment to the United States of America.  Have you gone to other nations and listened to their amazement at the low level of leadership in the U.S.?  Do you listen to the BBC?  Deutsche Welle?  Have you any inherent level of aptitude left in your own mind?

There is no reason to wonder why we have gridlock in Washington, D.C.  Look at the level of politicians we are sending there.  If a candidate offers any hint of intellect, he is suspect.  The Tea Party and the "privileged" will attack and destroy anyone with even a semblance of intelligence.

So, we are stuck with a future of ongoing wars and military build-up, favors to Big Pharma and war corporations, tax breaks for the wealthiest, no-bid federal contracts, bigotry, inadequate support systems, questioning of global warming, attacks on women, voting restrictions for the poor and minorities, immigration short-sightedness, suspicions about gays, and on and on.  I thought the Middle Ages had ended long ago.  Nope.  It has returned to the right-hand side of the aisle in politics in America.  Even God can't help us as he is tied up in pedophilia law suits.
