Once again, welcome to recovery summer. Remember those green shoots a President Obama talked about a couple of years ago? The green shoots that were supposed to represent growth in the economy? The green shoots that were supposed to tell us that we were are well on the way to recovery? I don't remember them either. Apparently they didn't grow into anything.

What Happens Wednesday?

What is going to be the net effect after these recall elections are finally settled? Will they finally be settled? Will people be happy? I'm sure some will be. Will the recalls be over? Or will we be gearing up for a new round of recalls? Will the union fields and tax-and-spend liberals be gearing up their hate fest for Scott Walker and send us into another six months of negative campaigning and advertising? Civility has become a bad word.

How about more name-calling? Seven months is now a long time. It was seven months ago when so-called leaders like President Obama were calling for an end to the polarizing effects of partisan politics. A new tone was called for. It lasted as long as the economic recovery. Liberals in this state called for compromise but for them compromise means changing your thinking over to theirs. Don't think for yourself, obey the union hierarchy.

Is Barry Blameless?

When the debt deal was completed and signed into law on August 2, the dumb dumb citizens of the United States were assured by the president that crisis would be averted. So what happened? The United States lost its AAA rating. The stock market dropped 1100 points over three sessions. After almost 3 years of age poor economy that does not seem to be getting better, it gets worse.

As in just about any national crisis, people turn to their president for leadership. But those looking for leadership are coming back empty. The president does not provide the confidence to the American people that we can overcome our problems in a convincing way. He may from time to time read the words off his Teleprompter, but that's it. The assurance is empty.

Organized Labor's Lies Didn't Work

More than $31 million was spent on the recall elections here in Wisconsin. That doesn't count the states portion of what they have to kick in to run the polls the day of the election. And what's the result? The Democrats did not regain control of the state Senate.

I don't have to tell you how much we have been bombarded with advertising both through television and radio and direct mail. Most voters have made up their minds by the time the elections were announced. So all of the mudslinging and character assassinating did not change many minds. If any.

Barry's Bus Tour

By now, we've all heard of the Magical Misery Tour. President Obama is touring the Midwest telling Americans to buy American made products on a brand-new million-dollar bus purchased from Canada.

Evidently, President Obama was not getting enough attention from the people in Iowa, because they were too preoccupied with their straw poll. So, in true Obama fashion, the president set out to see if he could garnish as much attention as Michele Bachmann was getting. He turned it into a multi state tour to visit places where unemployment was lower than the national average and the audience would be favorable. That explains why it was such a short tour.

Piling on Perry

Soon after Texas Governor Rick Perry entered the presidential race, the mainstream media seized their opportunity to see what could be done to discredit him. His faith makes him evil and his success made him a failure. His job creation has made him a bum.

A few weeks ago, Texas had the best job creation record in the nation. That record has now been turned upside down. The number of jobs has become irrelevant, because they do not pay an excessive union wage. Some of those jobs have been in retail. So now we can conclude that all the big paying jobs in Texas are now at Wal-Mart and McDonald's. Oh yes, there has also been a lot of jobs created in the energy sector. But that's not to Rick Perry's credit, the oil in Texas just happened to be there. And jobs just automatically go to where the oil is. Just like they did last year when it was reported that there is some oil in the Gulf of Mexico. Oh wait, those jobs got taken away because of the regulations of the Obama administration. That was better for America.

Good Excuses

President Obama has claimed more than once that he will not rest of unemployment begins to improve. Yet while unemployment “remains a challenge” and the rest of the economy stays sluggish, the president took a nine-day vacation. Yes, there will be many who will jump to his defense saying that everyone needs a vacation, and that is not the point. This vacation merely reflects the recent direction of the Obama administration; lack of leadership. No one is at the wheel.
