The Wrong No One Will Right

Kudos to Dan Bice for his continuing coverage of who is getting huge payouts in exchange for retiring from County service. He is a true watch dog. However, like all watchdogs, a little noise is made. The bite will have no teeth. And after a while, the noise will subside and all will be forgotten. All will be forgiven. And that's too bad.

It has been over seven years since the then Milwaukee County Board made it legal for retirees to collect on huge payouts upon retirement. Unlike the private sector, no monetary investment is made, yet a huge payout is given in return. And taxpayers are expected to foot the bill. Then, to an insult to injury, a current Board of Supervisors is trying to raise taxes in order to provide services of which cannot be paid for because the commitment has been made to make these huge retirement bonus payouts. This is an absolute rape of the taxpayer. And nothing gets done about it. And nothing will get done about it.

Government service used to be about serving people. Not anymore. It's about lining your pockets with taxpayer money. It's about filling your pockets well beyond capacity with taxpayer money. The architects of this plan such as Tom Ament, Gary Dobbert, and Robert Ott did little more than lining their pockets and then quit their jobs for huge payouts. Then, these cowards did not even have enough guts to stay living in Milwaukee County were they created the mess. If one grave needs to be danced on, it's Gary Dobbert's. I heard he had to be buried twice because the ground puked his corpse up the first time. The second time they put him a little deeper -- a little closer to hell. These people put the financial stability of Milwaukee County in serious question for generations to come. It was then approved by a County Board who either didn't do the math or wouldn't do the math. It's now being forced upon citizens who have done the math.

As a result, we are now being forced with a huge tax increase to pay for the parks and mass transit. How far would $1 million go if used in the park system? It would go a lot further for the good of the people of this county and it will by paying it to one person. It's unfortunate that we keep electing people to the county board would it not have enough backbone to right this wrong for the good of the people. Instead we're stuck with a bunch of tax-and-spend liberals who think that it's better just to keep squeezing money out of everyone who can't pay or who will pay. That's just wrong. It's too bad no one will stand up for what is right.
