Governing Out of Anger
A few weeks ago President Barack Obama said in a statement that his administration will not govern out of anger. And because we have seen that the president likes to double his chances of being correct, the government is now governing out of anger. We are being led to believe that this is out of a course of action brought on by the greed of American capitalists employed at AIG. Well, let's take a step back. If the president and Congress have taken time to look at what is in the stimulus package that was being rushed through Congress, they would have found the items that they are acting so surprised to have uncovered. Congress and the president signed into law the bailout providing AIG with the funds to pay out the bonuses. Now they believe they are righting a wrong by taxing 65 people in this great land of ours.
Although there is not a lot of support for these taxpayer funded bonuses, the way they are now being handled is just as wrong as the bonuses are in the first place. To begin, Congress ought to know that you cannot pass ex post facto laws in the United States. They ought to know this, but apparently they are so stupid that they don't. Perhaps that's why they don't read any of the bills that get signed into law is. They are too dumb. Yet we're supposed to look to them for policies that make sense to bring us all up of the current economic basis.
The Obama administration is not going to waste this situation either. With the help of the liberal media they are able to steer behavior in America against capitalism. They can paint the executives at AIG with the same brush that they will probably paint just about every capitalist in America as greedy. However, once the government buys these so-called "toxic assets" from banks, they expect new investors to put their money in and get some kind of return. Wouldn't this be the same as that greedy American capitalism? It's as if they are trying to pit the American public against corporations in America against the American people. I guess it's easier to target the successful people in America because the Liberals would have us believe that they are a lot fewer successful people in America that have made a lot of money then there are people looking to be on the receiving end of any and all government programs. It says if they believe that they can and greed in America, spread the wealth around, and everyone will be happy. At that point people will be able to give to their ability and take according to need. Perhaps we have heard this phrase somewhere else before.
The real anger should be at the government itself. How can a president say that we are in the middle of the dire economic crisis that is getting worse, yet feel his itinerary with an appearance on the Tonight Show. He then laughs at the serious questions imposed upon him by a 60 minutes correspondent. Obama is clearly in over his head. When things go wrong, they blame the Bush administration and claim that they are a only in office for two months. Yet Obama has to leave Washington to recharge his battery. How can he last one year let alone four? And the Congress continues to pass bill after bill spending record amounts of money with legislation that virtually none of them have read. But, if you think we're living in a dangerous world now, wait until a foreign policy issue arises.
