The Sorry President
It began with the mea culpa tour in Europe. Barack Obama was apologizing to all the nations of Europe because the United States had been poor cosmopolitans citizens. President Obama met with many foreign leaders and apologized on behalf of the United States for what he believes were mistakes in our history. He then went to Turkey and cleared the United States was not a Christian nation. Now, don't mistake me for one of those Bible thumping people who wish to replace the science textbooks with the Old Testament, but what can we expect next? The end of Christmas is a national holiday? No more Easter egg rolls for the children at the White House?
United States does not need to establish a national religion to defend the facts that this country was founded on Judeo-Christian beliefs. Although it is in the Constitution, the Obama administration wants to grant itself authority that goes far beyond the Constitution. Take a look at a coin in your pocket, if you have any left after the tax increases proposed and enacted by the Democrats, and you may still see the words in God we trust. Will the liberal agenda be far behind in trying to pass a new stimulus bill that will have buried in it a law requiring the words in God we trust removed from the currency? It can then have Allah engraved on it unless Jeremiah Wright tells them differently.
Obama is clearly in over his head. If he is not told what to do by the polls or his Press Secretary, he is completely lost. Let's take the example of the Pirates taking over an American ship. He had just spent a week telling the world that we are going to be weaker militarily. Obama even decided to make cuts in the defense budget. Defense is the only area of the federal budget that is seeing cuts. Everything else is being loaded as never before by the liberal agenda under the guise of stimulus, and a huge deficit laden budget. Now, when American interests are being threatened abroad, he does not know what to do. After condemning the cowboy diplomacy that the Liberals labeled the Bush years, they thought a nice guy approach would make the world safe for everyone especially the children. When asked what he was going to do about the pirate situation, Obama change the subject. This gives insight not only to how he is going to be handling national emergencies, but will also tell us that he is not prepared to think on his feet. It was not written on a TelePrompTer what he should do, so he is completely lost. Is this the change we can believe in? This seems to be a culmination of the worst qualities of Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter put together. The situation at hand is not being addressed, and is being viewed as weak by the rest of the world.
Joe Biden said that this president would be tested in the first six months of his administration. Well, because of the situation in the world today, that was not a Nostradamus-like prediction. When Hillary Clinton was a candidate for the Democratic nomination, she emphasized the importance of being ready on day one. Well, it's about day 81, and Obama is clearly not ready for effectively handling international situations. And after two months of passing huge spending bills, Obama also is clearly not ready for handling economic situations. The amounts of money are far too large for trial and error. Yes, Obama can apologize to the rest of the world for how the United States is screwed up. And if the Obama administration continues on its current track, they will have to apologize to the American people for taking the hope out of our future.
Wasn't that what he was elected to do? Give hope to our future? It's time for the Obama administration to stop blaming George Bush for all of the mistakes he is now making. It's time for the Obama administration to show some leadership. The United States is not going to be better off because of all of a bunch of apologies. It needs strong leadership. Obama was elected to lead. When will he start?
