Bike Race, Surveys, TIF for condos..
Been a light few months for WFB news .. super. Let's just enjoy the summer.
- The Whitefish Bay Classic Bike Race is this Sunday. There are 6 races, starting at 11:30am, with the final race at 5:45pm. Click here for the full schedule.
There will be "plenty of family-friendly activities during the race .. enjoy a bounce house, rock climbing wall, and food provided by the North Shore Lyons Club."
This year, the race route has changed dramatically, due to one thing .. the pedestrian "island" at Berkeley and Silver Spring makes the road too narrow. The Bike Race has been good for SS merchants, but this year, who knows, since the route is 3 blocks west of most merchants.
Regardless, stroll down Silver Spring on Sunday, stop by some of your favorite merchants, and enjoy the races.

- I'm a big fan of knowing what our representatives are up to, and one way is to subscribe to their email newsletters. Joe Rice, our Milwaukee County Supervisor has one. Sen. Alberta Darling has one. (Rep. Sandy Pasch does not.)
Sen. Darling's came today .. nothing earthshattering, but it does come with an online survey. I encourage everyone from the 6th district to take a few moments and answer the survey.
- Next Tuesday @7pm, WFB's CDA has this on their agenda: "Proposal by developer for Village financial support utilizing the Tax Increment Fund for a condominium project on the SE corner of Beaumont & Santa Monica. "
Those condos are the "Fox Bay Condos" .. you can see their website here: http://www.foxbaycondominiums.com
I think that'll be an interesting item. Curious what others think about using TIF funds for a condo project.
