Samual Odin of Fox Point and Ethan Ostopowicz of Mequon earned their bachelor's degrees, in social science cum laude and in psychology, from the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point in December.

Raven Crenshaw of Brown Deer made the fall semester dean's list at Carroll University in Waukesha.

SCHOOLSCENE

Benjamin Levey of Fox Point, a student at Nicolet High School in Glendale, has been named Herb Kohl Educational Foundation 2013 Excellence Scholars, earning a $1,000 Excellence Scholarship. Aleena Choudhry of Glendale, a Nicolet High School student, Elisheva Rennert of Milwaukee, a student at Torah Academy of Milwaukee in Glendale, and Jamie Smyth of Whitefish Bay, a Whitefish Bay High School student, have been named Initiative Scholars, each earning a $1,000 Initiative Scholarship. Also, Amber Kind-Keppel of Glendale and Cassandra Medved of Shorewood, teachers at Whitefish Bay High School, Mandy Kluck of New Berlin, a teacher at Shorewood High School, Amy Miller of Shorewood, a teacher at Lake Bluff Elementary School in Shorewood, Nicole Mueller of Milwaukee, a teacher at Nicolet High School, Pamela Mueller of Glendale, a teacher at Dominican High School in Whitefish Bay, Amy Olson of Saukville, a teacher at Lake Shore Middle School in Mequon, and Mary Tulley of Milwaukee, a teacher at St. Eugene Catholic School in Fox Point, were named Teacher Fellows, each earning a $1,000 fellowship award.

YOURNEIGHBORS

Jennifer Hackbarth of Whitefish Bay, a 14-year-old Milwaukee Ballet School & Academy student, competed at the Youth America Grand Prix semifinals in Indianapolis in March, where she was awarded the Youth Grand Prix Award. The award is occasionally presented to a sole dancer who, according to the jury panel, exceeded all other dancers in her division in both Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance categories. Jennifer's performances consisted of the Sugar Plum variation from "The Nutcracker," the Lilac Fairy variation from "Sleeping Beauty" and her contemporary solo Emergence. She qualified for the world finals, which will be held in New York from April 12 to 17.
