Three staffing changes considered in Thiensville FD
Thiensville - The Village Board will vote Monday on a proposed resignation, hire and promotion within the Thiensville Fire Department.
Officials on Monday reviewed the requests and forwarded them favorably to the Village Board meeting.
Firefighter and emergency medical technician Ashley Koller has submitted a letter of resignation.
Fire Chief Brian Reiels presented the board with a request to hire Andrew Moffitt as a new member of the department. His resume includes a role as president of the Kansas State Fire Fighters Association.
Lt. Jason Flegner, who works EMS within the department, has been recommended to fill a captain position as staffing is restructured.
School district seeking applicants for award
Mequon - Officials in the Mequon-Thiensville School District are seeking submissions for its Hall of Inspiration award program.
The program, entering its fifth year, is open to staff members and past Homestead High School graduates who have positively impacted their chosen profession.

Fox Point to continue looking at combined dispatch
Fox Point - The village has approved a resolution to continue looking into the feasibility of creating a combined dispatch center throughout the North Shore. As proposed, the center would be based in Bayside and serve the seven North Shore communities within Milwaukee County.
With Fox Point on board, six of the seven communities have adopted resolutions as a pledge of support.
Board approves upgrades to Longacre Pavilion
Fox Point - The Village Board on Tuesday approved plans to renovate and repair the village-owned Longacre Pavilion facility, 7343 N. Longacre Road. The project will be partially funded by federal Community Development Block Grant money.
The improvements include removing asbestos, repairing walls and a drainage system, replacing the furnace and upgrading the siding and roof.
