BAYSIDE
1A 24-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for drunken driving and refusal to take a breath test after being stopped for driving without lights in the 400 block of West Brown Deer Road at 3:15 a.m. May 13.
BROWN DEER
2A bicyclist reported being assaulted on the bike trail, 4800 W. Green Brook Drive, at 2:20 p.m. May 4. It started when he alerted a walker that he would be riding past him. A short time later, the bike rider stopped and the walker caught up with him and became belligerent. Words were exchanged ending with the walker picking up the bike and throwing it over his head.
3A $200 cell phone was taken from a locked men's room locker at the YMCA, 9250 N. Green Bay Road, between 5 and 6:30 p.m. May 5.
4A 31-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for possession of 3.5 grams of marijuana, with a prior conviction, obstruction and a probation violation after he was seen stumbling and falling outside the Parkview Pub, 7651 N. Teutonia Ave., at 1:30 a.m. May 6. He was on probation after being found guilty of possession of marijuana March 28.
5A $300 digital media player was taken from a car at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., before 10 a.m. May 6. A window was broken causing $300 damage.
6A 16-year-old Brown Deer boy was arrested for drunken driving, underage drinking, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of his probationary license and a curfew violation after police saw him pushing his car in the 8600 block of North 60th Street at 12:50 a.m. May 7. The boy, who admitted driving and having one beer, told police he'd run out of gas. Two pipes with residue were found in the boy's backpack. A 15-year-old Brown Deer boy, a passenger, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, a "home made pipe" and a curfew violation. The driver's blood alcohol content was 0.11.
7A 19-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for possession of marijuana and driving while suspended after being stopped for running a red light and having no license plate in the 8700 block of North 60th Street at 3:30 p.m. May 7. The car smelled of burnt marijuana but the woman said if they found any in the car, she didn't know about it. Marijuana weighing 0.3 grams was found in the car along with two marijuana roaches.
Three domestic violence incidents were reported this week.
FOX POINT
8About $100 was reported taken from an unlocked dorm room at Cardinal Stritch University, 6801 N. Yates Road, at 1 p.m. May 9.
9A 20-year-old Oak Creek woman was arrested for battery at Cardinal Stritch University at 2 p.m. May 10. The woman, a student, reportedly started a fight with another female student after both had sent "nasty text messages" and posted comments on Facebook over a "boyfriend."
10Scrap metal valued at $250 was taken from the 8300 block of North Links Way before 3 p.m. May 10.
GLENDALE
A Glendale woman was the victim of fraud after sending $840 to what she thought was an attorney's office after receiving an email on May 4 saying she was accepted to work at a school in Malaysia. The email stated she needed to send the money to "legalize her acceptance." She did so even though she had not applied for that job. She then received another email asking for $1,780 more and that's when she contacted the Malaysia Consulate in New York and was told it was a scam.
11A 27-year-old Glendale man was arrested for a criminal charge of drunken driving, with a prior conviction, and no proof of insurance after driving erratically in the 4700 block of Interstate 43 at 1:15 a.m. May 7. He exited on West Silver Spring Drive where he was stopped. The man, who admitted having two beers, said he was weaving in traffic because he was texting his dad. Later he admitted having eight beers. His BAC was 0.15.
12All four tires on two cars were punctured in the 5700 block of North Sievers Place between 5 and 9:45 a.m. May 7. The tires had to be replaced costing more than $1,100.
13A bullet hole was found in the hood of a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu parked in a lot belonging to Andrew Chevrolet at La Salle Avenue and Glen Park Road at 10 a.m. May 7. The bullet hole appeared to be from a .45-caliber gun fired into the air from a southeast location. Damage was $2,000.
14More than $400 was taken from a back room at Sports Plus, 5800 N. Bayshore Drive, the evening of May 7.
15Two 27-year-old men of Union Grove and Bayside were arrested for theft from Treat All Metals, 5140 N. Port Washington Road, at 4:15 p.m. May 10. The Union Grove man fled the scene but the Bayside man was stopped with receipts of more than $1,100 for scrap metal he admitted stealing and selling over the last week. In his truck was metal he said he took from Children's Hospital in Wauwatosa. The man said he was unemployed and took and sold scrap metal to make money. A citation was mailed to the other suspect.
16A 58-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for trespassing, possession of drug paraphernalia and theft of clothing and jewelry valued at more than $450 from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 4:45 p.m. May 10. The woman took the items into a fitting room and walked out of the store with a very full Walgreens bag. The only thing left in the fitting room were the tags. When arrested, she tried to keep police from searching her jacket. After police found a crack pipe, razor and a corner cut plastic bag in that jacket, she said it wasn't hers. She admitted she was going to sell the items to pay for diabetes medicine.
17A laptop computer valued at $400 was taken from a locked car in the 4600 block of North Ironwood Lane on May 9 or 10. Damage to a window was $130.
18A 47-year-old California man was issued a felony criminal charge of unauthorized use of another person's identity and/or documents as he attempted to purchase phones at Verizon Wireless Store, 5790 N. Port Washington Road, at 6:45 p.m. May 11. The suspect, who knew the name, address and last four digits of the other man's Social Security number, had been successful in making fraudulent purchases for phones at Verizon stores in Franklin, Greenfield and Brookfield a few hours before. These phones, once activated, cannot be resold and the loss to Verizon is more than $5,100.
RIVER HILLS
19A 45-year-old Georgia woman was arrested for drunken driving after almost hitting an unmarked police car and speeding away at more than 80 mph in the 7900 block of Interstate 43 at 12:30 a.m. May 6. The woman failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of 0.12.
A purse and contents including a check for $700 was taken from a car parked at Indian Hills Elementary, 1101 W. Brown Deer Road, between 9:45 and 11 a.m. May 13. Damage to the driver's side window was more than $150.
SHOREWOOD
20A 28-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft of a bicycle from Pick 'n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., at 9:30 a.m. May 7. The man was seen on surveillance video making a purchase using his store savings card, leaving and riding off on the bike. He was identified by that card and arrested in the 5100 block of West Silver Spring Drive.
21Forced entry was made into an apartment lobby in the 3900 block of North Oakland Avenue on May 8. In a possible related incident two cars were reported entered but nothing taken in that building's underground garage May 8.
22Construction tools were taken from a trailer in the 1100 block of East Capitol Drive about noon May 8. Locks had been cut to gain entry.
23A 54-year-old Glendale man was arrested for two counts of theft at Sendik's, 4027 N. Oakland Ave., at 4 p.m. May 8. He was stopped after attempting to steal flowers May 8 and then recognized as the man who took cheese and sausage valued at $138 May 1.
24A 49-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and theft after taking meat at Pick 'n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., at 5:30 p.m. May 9. The man left the store but was stopped with the meat and a pipe with marijuana residue.
25An attempted burglary was reported in the 2200 block of East Stratford Court at noon May 10. A side door was forced open setting off an alarm.
A resident reported that she received a call that her grandson was in jail and she should send money to Mexico at 3 p.m. May 10. Her grandson was not in jail and she did not send the money.
26A smart phone valued at $750 was taken from the gym at Shorewood High School, 1710 E. Capitol Drive, between 3 and 6 p.m. May 10. The owner accidently left the phone on the gym floor.
27A 21-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for drunken driving after making an illegal turn at Oakland and Edgewood avenues at 1:20 a.m. May 11. His BAC was 0.19.
28An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana, possession of a Schedule II narcotic without a prescription and theft at Shorewood High School at 10 a.m. May 11. The drugs and a stolen football helmet were found in his car, which was not authorized to be in the school parking lot.
WHITEFISH BAY
29A resident reported a rabid squirrel attacking people in the 300 block of East Lexington Boulevard at 4:30 p.m. May 9. An officer arrived and was also attacked. The squirrel "was dispatched."
30Two 14-year-old Glendale girls were mailed citations for four counts of theft of backpacks, clothing and cash from the girls locker room and loitering on school grounds at Whitefish Bay High School, 1200 E. Fairmount Ave., between 3 and 7 p.m. May 10. The girls admitted taking the items valued at more than $350. All items were returned.
31Two females, 17 and 20, and two males, 17 and 18, all of Milwaukee were cited for underage drinking and violation of park hours at Big Bay Park, 5000 N. Palisades Road, at 11:55 p.m. May 10. Two men, 23 and 24, and a 20 year-old woman, also of Milwaukee, were cited for violation of park hours.
32A 25-year-old Whitefish Bay man was arrested for drunken driving and speeding 41 mph in a 25 mph zone in the 4600 block of North Oakland Avenue at 1:45 a.m. May 11. His BAC was 0.13.
33A 27-year-old Mequon woman was arrested for drunken driving after a 911 call reporting an erratic driver in the 800 block of East Silver Spring Drive at 9:45 p.m. May 11. She failed field sobriety tests. Her BAC was 0.14.
34A 48-year-old Fox Point man was arrested for drunken driving, failure to yield to an emergency vehicle, obstruction/resisting and failure to stop at a sign in the 6100 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard at 2:30 a.m. May 13. His BAC was 0.16.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded to 119 calls, 73 emergency medical and 46 fire/rescue, May 9 to May 15.
35Two small grass fires were reported near a soccer net at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., Brown Deer, at 10:42 p.m. May 6.
36A small fire was found around playground equipment at Dean Elementary School, 8355 N. 55th St., Glendale, at 10:45 p.m. May 10.
37The department responded after a large trampoline was blown about 30 feet in the air and got stuck in a pine tree in the 100 block of E. Green Tree Road, Glendale, at 4:20 p.m. May 10. It was removed.
