1A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was mailed a citation Jan. 16 for theft of a GPS unit from a car in the 9400 block of North Green Bay Road on Jan. 2. At that time, the man was arrested for trespassing and underage drinking. He was found with a GPS unit that he said a friend gave to him. After he was released, the theft was reported and the man notified Jan. 5. He said he would return the GPS even though he didn't remember taking it because he was so drunk. As of Jan. 16, he hadn't returned it and the citation was mailed.
2A 27-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of 1.2 grams of marijuana, and, along with four other men, all 27, three of Milwaukee and one of West Allis, for disorderly conduct and obstruction after fighting outside the Parkview Pub, 7651 N. Teutonia Ave., at 2:17 a.m. Jan. 7. Two of the Milwaukee men had to be electronically shocked and afterward, one told officers that he was "fine now" and they "don't have to do that again." The incident reportedly began inside the bar when a woman was punched by another woman. That woman called police on Jan. 14 while at the bar to report her attacker was also there. Police are investigating a 26-year-old Milwaukee woman on allegations of battery.
3A 15-year-old Brown Deer boy was arrested for disorderly conduct after he pushed and hit another student in a hallway at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., at 11 a.m. Jan. 11. The boy denied being the aggressor, however, surveillance video showed him pushing and knocking down the other student. When he saw the video, the boy said he didn't remember and "must have blacked out."
4A 45-year-old Mequon woman was arrested for theft and a parole violation at Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 11 a.m. Jan. 11. The woman had hidden $362 of merchandise under her own clothing including thongs, bras and a Clay Matthews Packers jersey.
5A 14-year-old Brown Deer girl was cited for disorderly conduct at Brown Deer Middle School, 5757 W. Dean Road, at 9:45 a.m. Jan. 14. The girl was disruptive in class and when told to go the office, refused and began throwing things and yelling. Later, she told an officer the teacher had "blown the incident out of proportion."
6A 38-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of 0.2 grams of crack cocaine and driving while suspended in the 4500 block of West Bradley Road at 11 p.m. Jan. 13. The man said he forgot he had the cocaine found in his pocket but admitted "snorting the drug about once a month" as a "party thing."
7All four tires were slashed on a car in the 9000 block of Brandybrook Trail on Jan. 14 or 15. Damage was $300 and the victim said it was done by someone he knew.
8A 17-year-old Glendale boy was arrested for burglary Jan. 17 after taking a wallet from a car parked in a garage in the 200 block of West Indian Creek Court about 7 p.m. Jan. 8. The resident called police after seeing the boy run from the garage and get into a rusty Jeep Cherokee driven by another juvenile. That boy, 16 of Whitefish Bay, was cited for driving without a license. The car was stopped by Glendale police but both boys fled. They were identified after the car had been reported stolen from the 800 block of East Lake View Avenue, Whitefish Bay, on Jan. 9.
9A 30-year-old Baxter, Minn., man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, theft and damage to property after attempting to pry open a cash drawer at White Sage Spa, 8653 N. Port Washington Road, about 9:30 a.m. Jan. 17. The man then entered another store in the area saying he was waiting for his mother to pick him up and could he use the bathroom. He was seen rummaging through coat pockets at both locations and after being stopped by police, he yelled profanities and threatened officers. He had a small bag of marijuana, a mirror with pink residue and at least one pill of an amphetamine without a prescription.
10A diamond tennis bracelet valued at $3,600 was reported taken from the 8700 block of North Regent Road the afternoon of Jan. 18. The owner said the last time she saw it was Jan. 16. An outside worker had been in the home.
11A 15-year-old Fox Point girl and a 13-year-old Bayside girl were arrested for underage drinking and obstruction in the 500 block of West Bergen Drive at 2:50 a.m. Jan. 13. The girls were seen running in the cold without coats from the 8500 block of North Fox Croft Lane to the home and pounding on a door. They told police they lived there. However, the homeowners said they didn't know the girls. The girls then admitted they lied to police so they wouldn't be caught. Their preliminary blood alcohol contents were 0.073 and 0.012.
12Two Dodge Caravans, a 2002 and 2003, both valued at about $5,000 were reported taken, one from The Radisson, 7065 N. Port Washington, on Jan. 13 and one from the Lydell parking structure, 5800 N. Bayshore Drive, early morning Jan. 15. The 2002 was recovered in the 2900 block of North Buffum Street, Milwaukee, on Jan. 14 after a witness reported "several juveniles" running from the scene. The 2003 was found Jan. 16 after running out of gas in the 4100 block of North 13th Street. The steering column on both were damaged.
13A 38-year-old Cedarburg man was arrested for drunken driving and driving the wrong way on a divided highway in the 6700 block of North Port Washington Road at 2 a.m. Jan. 14. The man, who admitted having seven beers, said this was "the worst night of my life." He was told to recite the alphabet and did well until "Q" when he said "T, R, V, sorry." His blood alcohol content was 0.17.
14A car was broken into and 30 sets of pompoms valued at $100 taken at Perkins, 5265 N. Port Washington Road, about 10 a.m. Jan. 14. Damage was more than $200.
15A 42-year-old Glendale man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, failure to stop for an emergency vehicle - a squad car - and speeding 55 mph in a 25 mph zone on West Hampton Avenue and stopped in the 4800 block of North Port Washington Road at 8:45 p.m. Jan. 14. The man said he didn't see the squad car's light because he was on the phone with his girlfriend arguing and also he had to go to the bathroom. A plastic baggie with 1.1 grams of marijuana, rolling papers and a lighter were found in the car. He said the drugs fell out of his sock.
16A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft Jan. 16 after a resident reported that jewelry, cash and a digital media player valued at more than $3,000 were missing from the 4800 block of North Iroquois Avenue early morning Jan. 15. The resident said she left her home to give a male friend and the Milwaukee woman "time to be alone." When she returned both her property and the woman were gone. The woman said she only took a few dollars.
17A man reported that his wallet with $300 cash and a watch were taken from his unlocked locker while he showered at North Shore Elite, 5750 N. Glen Park Road, about 3 p.m. Jan. 17. The man said his watch "was possibly an antique and may be worth as much as $5,000."
18A 29-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after urinating on an outdoor patio at Buffalo Wild Wings, 590 W. North Shore Drive, at 3:45 p.m. Jan. 17. The man told police he didn't do anything wrong and in any case he "had to go." Some females were nearby and giggled at him. When told he was permanently banned from the Bayshore Town Center, he shrugged saying he would return and they could, "(Expletive) off."
19Three purses, a camera and an e-reader valued at more than $3,000 were taken from the 5800 block of North Ames Terrace about 3:30 a.m. Jan. 19. At that time, a resident heard the side door slam and found the door open and thought the wind was responsible. The door had not been locked and the purses were hanging right next to it. They were discovered missing about 8 a.m. with credit cards already used at two gas stations and a charge of $20 at a McDonald's. The purses and some items were found by a neighbor.
20Police captured a runaway goat in the 2400 block of West County Line Road and returned it to its owner about 8:40 a.m. Jan. 16.
21A 48-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after a report of an erratic driver on Capitol Drive at Richland Court at 7:15 p.m. Jan. 16. The man failed field sobriety tests and had nothing to say when arrested. His BAC was 0.33.
22An 18-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for disorderly conduct/battery outside Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, at 1:50 p.m. Jan. 20. The man pushed an 18-year-old woman to the ground, a woman he knew, grabbed her cellphone and checked the messages on that phone. He then tried to flee but was stopped.
23A coat, cellphone and a digital media player with a total value of $610 were taken from an unlocked girls locker at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, between 3:30 and 8 p.m. Jan. 20.
24A burglary was reported in the 4300 block of North Murray Avenue on Jan. 21 or 22. A forced entry was made to a garage service door. Nothing was reported taken.
25A 28-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, with a prior conviction, an expired registration and speeding 43 mph in a 25 mph zone in the 4600 block of North Estabrook Parkway at 2:40 a.m. Jan. 18. The man also hit a parked car in Milwaukee and police there are handling that citation. His BAC was 0.09.
26Obscene images were found on the Cahill Building, 1011 E. Fairmount Ave., at 8:40 p.m. Jan. 18.
A resident reported getting a call from a company calling itself Microsoft International saying her computer had viruses and she needed to allow access so they could be eliminated at noon Jan. 19. She did that and the next day her computer locked up and she was told by Milwaukee PC that this is a scam. Her bank and credit card companies were notified.
27A 24-year-old Whitefish Bay woman was arrested for drunken driving and refusal to take a breath test after being stopped for speeding in the 4700 block of North Oakland Avenue at 2:15 a.m. Jan. 23.
28A coyote was reported chasing two small dogs in the 6000 block of North Lake Drive at 8:55 a.m. Jan. 20. The coyote ran off and the dogs were not injured.
29A resident reported someone trying to enter his home in the 4900 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard at 8:30 p.m. Jan. 21. The door knob on a side door was turned and the door shaken. There were footprints in the snow leading to and from that door.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded to 129 calls, 94 emergency medical and 35 fire/rescue Jan. 16 to Jan. 22.
30A resident called 911 when her carbon monoxide detectors sounded in the 4900 block of North Hollywood Avenue, Whitefish Bay, at 11:10 p.m. Jan. 22. Carbon monoxide was detected on the first and second floors and the basement reading from 16 PPM to 50 PPM. The damper was discovered closed with coals smoldering in the living room fireplace. The home was ventilated until the reading of 0 PPM. No injuries were reported.
