1Thirteen iris plants were found in the middle of road, placed to form the letter T, at Lake Drive and Fairy Chasm Road at 2:40 a.m. June 8. They had been pulled out of a nearby yard and eight were not able to be replanted. The amount of damage was not available.
2A 50-year-old Saukville man was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, and speeding 75 mph in a 55 mph zone in the 9200 block of Interstate 43 at 3 a.m. June 9. The man, who was taken for a blood draw, had a blood alcohol content of 0.13.
A mail box was knocked off its post causing $50 damage and mulch and leaves were placed inside the cab of a truck in the 9200 block of North Thrush Lane on June 9 or 10. During that same time frame, mulch and leaves were dumped on a porch in the 500 block of East Bay Point Drive and patio furniture including chairs and a table were taken from a yard in the 9200 block of North Regent Road. The furniture was found in the area and no damage was listed. Also found in that same area was an empty 30-pack of beer.
3A 56-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for permitting underage drinking in the 9500 block of North Maura Lane at 1:30 a.m. May 26. Fourteen men and women ages 18 and 19 from Brown Deer, Glendale, Menomonee Falls, Milwaukee and other cities were arrested for underage drinking. The teens, identified as college students, had blood alcohol contents ranging from 0.06 to 0.12. A neighbor reported the event after some of the teens dumped two bags of empty liquor bottles and beer cans into his recycling bin.
4A man was seen dumping hot coals into a Veolia Dumpster causing $1,000 damage in the 4400 block of West Dean Road about 2:10 p.m. May 28.
5An 18-year-old Brown Deer woman was mailed a citation June 4 for theft in the 8700 block of North Deerwood Drive at 1:40 p.m. May 29. The woman, working for a cleaning service, took a check from the residence, made it out to herself for $200 and when cashing it put her Social Security number on it. The theft was discovered when the victim was notified her account was overdrawn. The teen admitted taking the check saying "I truly don't know why I did it" and promised to pay back the company that had made restitution. On June 4, when the teen still had not done that, police went to her home and when no one responded, the citation was mailed.
6A 39-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for having an animal that caused injury after his dog, a 5-month-old pit bull, bit a 14-year-old girl in the back of her knee in the 8000 block of North 55th Street at 6:15 p.m. May 29. That girl and another 14-year-old girl both of Brown Deer were cited for interference for lying to police. The dog was with the owner's son, whom they knew, but they told police the dog was alone. One girl said she didn't want to get anyone in trouble. The victim had minor injury and no stitches were required.
7A catalytic converter was taken from a 1998 Mercury parked at Badger Automotive, 4730 W. Bradley Road, before 1 p.m. June 1. Loss and damage was more than $1,500.
8A $160 cellphone was taken when left on a shelf by an employee at Family Dollar Store, 6554 W. Brown Deer Road, at noon June 2.
9Two Milwaukee women, 40 and 56, were arrested for theft at Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 1:20 p.m. June 2. The women entered the store with empty Kohl's and Abercrombie and Fitch bags and were seen putting items into those bags and leaving without paying. They were stopped by loss prevention with items valued at $528 including seven pairs of Capri pants.
A 22-year-old Brown Deer man was a suspect for battery/domestic violence after pushing and kicking a woman at 6:15 p.m. June 4. The victim said the man became violent after accusing her of stealing money from his bank account. He fled the scene but was notified to appear before the District Attorney.
A 23-year-old Brown Deer woman was arrested for battery/domestic violence at 3:15 a.m. June 3. The woman had been arguing with a man and after he tried to lock her out of the house, she knocked over liquor bottles breaking them and then scratched and punched him.
10Six metal tables, 10 metal chairs, table umbrella, storage box, a tree in a planter and other items were found dumped in the swimming pool at the Town Club, 7950 N. Santa Monica Blvd., at 7:40 a.m. June 8. Damage was estimated at less than $300 not including labor.
11An 18-year-old Fox Point man and a 19-year-old Glendale man were arrested for underage drinking, with three prior convictions, and two 18-year-old women of Milwaukee and Glendale also for underage drinking after a report of them in the pool at The Porticos, 500 W. Bradley Road, at 3:40 a.m. June 6. The Fox Point man was also wanted on two outstanding warrants. The preliminary BACs ranged from 0.03 to 0.175.
12About $300 in cash and some checks, one a refund check from the IRS, were taken from an office in the 1700 block of West Florist Avenue on May 30 and reported June 4.
13More than $1,800 was taken during a robbery with an implied weapon at Chase Bank, 210 W. Capitol Drive, at 10:53 a.m. June 1. A man, about 18, walked up to a teller, wearing a hooded sweat shirt with his hands in the pockets, and handed the teller a note demanding money or "someone will die." A number of witnesses reported seeing the man getting the money and then walking out of the bank.
14Eight flat screen TVs and six wall mounts valued at $2,068 were taken from a garage at the Golden Living Center, 1300 W. Silver Spring Drive, from May 31 to 11 a.m. June 1. There was sign of forced entry.
15A CD stereo valued at $300 was taken from a locked truck in the 500 block of West Estabrook Boulevard the morning of June 1. Damage was at least $250.
16A flat screen TV, a video game system, games and cash totaling $1,400 were taken from the 4600 block of North River Park Boulevard during the day June 1. A rear door was forced opened and the home was ransacked.
17A 30-year-old Glendale man was arrested for drunken driving after a 911 call reporting him driving erratically as he exited Interstate 43 and drove to Taco Bell, 5560 N. Port Washington Road, at 1 a.m. June 2. The man was in the drive-thru and had bumped the car in front of him. He admitted being at several bars and having a few drinks. His BAC was 0.19.
18Two Milwaukee girls, 15 and 16, were arrested for theft at Sears, 5900 N. Port Washington Road, at 1:40 p.m. June 3. The girls put items valued at $393 into their purses and fled the store. The younger girl was also wanted as a runaway since April 22. She was turned over to her father.
19A 40-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft of clothing valued at more than $150, possession of an anti-theft device, receiving stolen property and trespassing at American Eagle, 5785 N. Bayshore Drive, at 3:30 p.m. June 4. The woman, previously banned from the mall, took two pairs of shorts and removed the security tags. She also had items in her car taken from Charlotte Russe and Forever 21. The woman said she would fight the arrest because she did nothing wrong.
20A 43-year-old Glendale man was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, and driving after revocation when stopped for driving without lights in the 6600 block of North Green Bay Avenue at 10:40 p.m. June 4. When asked why his license had been revoked he said, "For this. Drunk driving." His BAC was 0.28.
21A mountain bike and bike rack valued at $370 were taken from a car in the 6900 block of North Port Washington Road between 2:30 and 3 p.m. June 5.
22A 52-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft at Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 3:10 p.m. June 5. The woman was seen "stuffing" clothes into stolen purses and leaving the store. When asked where her car was, she said she didn't remember if she had a car and them said she didn't remember what kind or where it was. In her car were bags of stolen items valued at $794. She admitted having a problem with stealing saying she couldn't stop.
23Two Milwaukee girls, 16 and 15, were arrested on two counts of theft and a 17-year-old Milwaukee girl for three counts of theft and trespassing at Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 6:45 p.m. June 5. The girls ran from police, throwing the clothes under cars as they ran. The clothing, valued at about $150, was recovered.
24A 23-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after driving erratically in the 1300 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 2:20 a.m. June 8. His BAC was 0.12.
25Vulgar and profane words and sexually explicit drawings were found on the outer brick walls of University School, 2100 W. Fairy Chasm Road, at 8:45 a.m. June 4. The amount of damage was not available.
26A 48-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for a parole violation and charges are pending for possession of Schedule II narcotics without a prescription after he was found in a disabled car in the 700 block of West Good Hope Road at 9:35 p.m. June 8. The man had plastic bags filled with Oxycodone, Hydrocodone and Percocet, more than 80 pills in all. He said he had a prescription for the pills but was unable to produce it.
27A purse and contents valued at about $50 was taken from a car in the 4000 block of North Estabrook Parkway early afternoon June 3.
28A $150 digital media player was taken from a backpack during track practice about a month ago at Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, and reported June 5.
29A wallet valued at $300 was taken from a purse left unattended in a cart at Walgreens, 4081 N. Oakland Ave., the morning of June 5.
30An 18-year-old man, who is homeless, is a suspect in the theft of a video game system, two controllers, eight games and a laptop computer valued at $1,320 in the 3800 block of North Morris Boulevard before 1:30 p.m. June 6. The man was allowed into the home and after he left the items were reported missing.
31A lawn mower and gas can valued at $305 were taken from a garage in the alley behind the 3500 block of North Murray Avenue from 3 to 11 p.m. June 6. There was no sign of forced entry.
32A garage was entered but nothing taken in the 3500 block of North Murray Avenue on June 6 or 7.
33An unlocked car in a driveway was entered and $2 taken in the 2100 block of East Newton Avenue on June 6 or 7.
A resident reported June 7 that more than $1,300 had been deducted from a bank account starting in October 2011 until May 12 to pay for a Sprint account.
34Two Milwaukee males, 17 and 19, were arrested for underage drinking and trespassing, and a 21-year-old Milwaukee man for trespassing and contributing to underage drinking after all were found setting off fireworks on private property near Atwater Beach in the 3900 block of North Lake Drive at 8:15 p.m. June 7.
35A 29-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct after jumping onto the hood of a moving car causing more than $700 damage including denting the hood and damaging the windshield and windshield wipers in the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue at 2 a.m. June 8.
36Front door windows were broken causing $300 damage in the 3500 block of North Frederick Avenue before 10:30 a.m. June 8.
37A 54-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft of seven packages of meat, four of seafood and four bottles of laundry detergent valued at more than $200 at Pick 'n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., at 8:30 p.m. June 8. The man left the store with the items in a cart and was found about a block away.
38Golf equipment valued at more than $1,000 including clubs and bag, and two bowling balls and shoes valued at $500 were taken from an unlocked car in the 300 block of East Lexington Avenue June 2 to June 4.
A women's $200 bicycle and a nylon bag were reported taken from an open garage in the 5100 block of North Idlewild Avenue at 8:25 p.m. June 4. An hour later, that bike was found abandoned in the 5500 block of North Danbury Court when the resident there reported his 2012 Infiniti, unlocked with keys inside, was taken 5500 block of North Danbury Court at 9:30 p.m. That car was recovered in the 900 block of West Burleigh Street, Milwaukee, at 8:30 p.m. June 8.
39Two West Allis men, 25 and 23, were cited for having alcohol in the park and along with a 20-year-old Milwaukee woman for violation of park hours at Big Bay Park, 5000 N. Palisades Road, at midnight June 5.
40An 18-year-old Greendale man and two Burlington men, 19 and 20, were arrested for underage drinking and along with a Wauwatosa woman and a Milwaukee man, both 22, for violation of park hours at Big Bay Park, 5000 N. Palisades Road, at 3:50 a.m. June 7.
41A concrete block was thrown through a picture window in the 5000 block of North Berkeley Boulevard on June 6 or before 4:30 a.m. June 7. The amount of damage was not available.
42A 16-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested for theft of a $50 bicycle from a bike rack at Whitefish Bay High School, 1200 E. Fairmount Ave., at 3 p.m. June 7. Two other bikes, one valued at $240 and one at $50, were reported stolen from the school that same afternoon.
43A 25-year-old man and woman, both of Milwaukee, a 27-year-old Mequon man and a 25-year-old Wauwatosa woman were cited for violation of park hours at Big Bay Park, 5000 N. Palisades Road, at 2:35 a.m. June 9.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded to 117 calls, 85 emergency medical and 32 fire/rescue, June 4 to June 10.
44After responding to a fire alarm, an investigation revealed no fire but carbon monoxide levels in a boiler room of 200 PPM and in an adjacent cafeteria of about 75 PPM at St. John's Lutheran School, 7877 N Port Washington Road, Glendale, at 8:35 a.m. June 5. The school was not in session but an employee reported having a headache and was evaluated. Contractors were working in the basement and the building was evacuated along with a day care center in an attached building. However, at no time was there any level of carbon monoxide in that building. The school building was ventilated until carbon monoxide levels registered zero.
45An oven fire was reported in the 400 block of East Daphne Road, Fox Point, at 8:45 p.m. June 7. Charred debris, oranges and boxed muffins, was found in the oven and the residents were "educated not to store combustible items" in the oven.
46Two cars were reported burning at Bayshore Town Center, 5780 N. Port Washington Road, Glendale, at 1:20 p.m. June 9. Heavily damaged were a Buick Park Avenue and a Chevy Malibu. The cause of the fire, which started in the Buick, was not available.
