BAYSIDE

1A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, possession of a controlled substance, open intoxicants and driving while suspended after he hit a curb exiting Interstate 43 at West Brown Deer Road at 2:25 a.m. July 30. He told police he was tired and had one beer. When asked to recite the alphabet from E to V, he said quickly, "E B C. I mean E V." He had 0.3 grams of cocaine in his pocket and a preliminary blood alcohol content of 0.113.

BROWN DEER

2Purses, value not listed, were taken from a locked storage unit in the 4100 block of West Hawthorne Trace Road sometime July 13 to July 27.

3A boy, age and residence not released, was arrested July 24 for theft of a cellphone after asking a man walking by if he could use his cellphone because his girlfriend had driven away and left him in the 8100 block of North 47th Street at 7:30 p.m. June 22. The man gave the phone to the boy who ran off. He was identified by phone records and arrested after the car he was in was stopped for no headlights at 1 a.m. July 24. The driver, a boy, age and residence not released, was arrested for obstruction, bail jumping, two warrants and warned for no headlights. They were also cited for violation of curfew along with two other juveniles.

4An unsecured bicycle, value not available, was taken form an underground garage in the 5900 block of West Brown Deer Road sometime July 24.

5A male, age and residence not released, was taken into custody for burglary after breaking into a locked bedroom and taking $500 in the 4600 block of West Dunwood Road about 10:30 p.m. July 24. The suspect is a relative of the resident.

· A resident reported being a victim of a fraud after being hired for a job found on the Internet July 26. She was sent a check for $2,400, told to keep a portion for her pay and to return the rest via Western Union. She did and then realized it was a scam.

· A resident reported receiving harassing and threatening phone calls demanding she send money or else the caller would have her arrested and deported July 24. The woman knew it was a scam and no money was sent.

6A 2007 Ford E350 moving van with keys inside, value not listed, was taken from a driveway in the 9300 block of North Fairy Chasm Lane about 11:30 p.m. July 26.

7A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, in the 4400 block of West Schroeder Drive at 11:55 p.m. July 27. His preliminary BAC was 0.242 and he was taken for a blood draw.

8A 2007 Chevy Impala, value not available, was taken from a driveway in the 9000 block of North Goldendale Drive before 2 p.m. July 27. It was recovered in the 9100 block of North Bethanne Drive at 7:05 a.m. July 28.

9A 26-inch bicycle, value not available, was taken from an open garage in the 5700 block of West Donna Drive on July 27 or 28.

FOX POINT

10A wallet and contents including $50 cash and credit cards and two pairs of sunglasses valued at $150 each were taken from a truck in a driveway in the 7800 block of North Fairchild Road on July 26 or 27. The owner discovered the theft after Discovery Card called reporting suspicious charges. He then checked his truck and called police.

11A woman was arrested for attempting to obtain a prescription illegally, possession of a dangerous weapon — two knives — and obstruction for lying to police at CVS Pharmacy, 8661 N. Port Washington Road, at 4:30 p.m. July 27. The woman tried to have two prescriptions for oxycodone filled but the drug name was misspelled and when asked for ID, the woman said the prescriptions were for a friend. That woman was called and the doctor as well and both said the prescriptions were fraudulent. The suspect then said a man named Mack — she didn't know his last name — gave her the prescriptions and drove her to the store. Another woman with the suspect was arrested for aiding and abetting.

12A resident reported as he opened his garage door with the remote there were three unknown males inside in the 1000 block of East Fox Lane at 7:39 p.m. July 31. The males, who appeared to be 17 or 18, ran south with the resident following them to East Quarles Place where they disappeared. In the garage they left a bike and a backpack and inside the backpack was a "one hitter," a marijuana pipe with residue, a bottle of vodka, one of gin and a mug of warm coffee. The resident said the back door to the garage was unlocked.

GLENDALE

13A $250 mountain bike was taken when left unattended on the bike path near the trestle near the 6100 block of North Sidney Place about 8:50 p.m. July 24. The rider left the bike to climb the trestle and when he returned it was gone. He said there was a "boxy-looking car" on the path.

14A wallet was taken from a car in the 7400 block of North Chadwick Road on July 24 or 25. The owner reported the theft after the bank reported a credit card used at a Milwaukee gas station.

15A man who arrived on a bike entered an unlocked garage and took a drill and drill bits valued at $243 at Javic Wholesale Warehouse, 4545 N. Port Washington Road, about 4 p.m. July 25. He then rode away.

16A 31-year-old man, residence not released, was arrested for theft of sunglasses valued at $220 from Sunglass Hut, 490 W. Northshore Drive, at 4:30 p.m. July 25.

17Three girls and one woman, ages and residences not released, were arrested for theft and obstruction for giving false names after taking items valued at a total of more than $350 from Delia's and Name of the Game at Bayshore Town Center, 5800 N. Bayshore Drive, at 2:30 p.m. July 26. One of the girls was a runaway.

18Two boys, ages and residences not released, were arrested for underage drinking after a report of intoxicated juveniles at Speedway, 6170 N. Green Bay Ave., at 9:40 p.m. July 27. The boys left in a car but were stopped a few blocks away.

19Three trees were badly damaged at Wingate Park, 2420 W. Wingate Ave., on July 28 or 29. Someone, possibly using a golf club found at the scene, knocked the bark off the entire diameter of the trees causing damage of more than $1,000.

20A $200 digital media player was taken from a car in the 3000 block of West Good Hope Road between 8:30 a.m. and 11 p.m. July 29. Damage to a window was more than $200.

21An 18-year-old man, residence not released, was arrested for theft, receiving stolen property and disorderly conduct at BP Amoco, 525 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 5:10 p.m. July 29. The man arrived on a bike and asked the clerk for an iced tea and when told there wasn't any, he yelled profanities, grabbed two honey buns and candy worth $8 and left on the bicycle which turned out to be stolen from Shorewood.

22A resident reported a man came to his door asking for JR or JL in the 2800 block of West Mill Road at 11:20 p.m. July 29. When the man was told there was on one there by that name, he hit the resident on the top of the head and fled. No injuries were reported.

23A 26-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after yelling profanities and being disorderly on a city bus in the 1500 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 11:20 p.m. July 29. The man missed his stop and became angry when the driver wouldn't go back.

24A 38-year-old North Shore man was arrested for robbery and bail jumping after he implied he had a weapon and took cigarettes, a cellphone and more than $100 cash at Speedway, 6170 N. Green Bay Ave., at 3 a.m. July 30. The man came into the store while the clerk was stocking shelves and put a hard object at her back and demanded money. He was identified on surveillance video from previous contacts and was arrested at his residence.

25A woman reported being robbed of her wallet by three males as she got out of her car in the 5200 block of North Mohawk Avenue at 4:20 p.m. July 30.

26A 56-year-old woman, residence not available, was arrested for drunken driving and refusal to take a breath test after she drove off the road into the Milwaukee Union Cemetery in the 5900 block of North Lydell Avenue at 6:10 p.m. July 30. She drove in circles and might have damaged some grave stones. When she stopped her car, a person on the scene was able to reach in and turn off the engine.

27A 32-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested on three counts of theft after taking items valued at more than $300 from Champs and Footlocker, 5800 N. Bayshore Drive, and Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 5 p.m. July 31. Bayshore security stopped the man as he tried to flee.

SHOREWOOD

28A $150 bicycle was taken from a garage in the 4400 block of North Cramer Avenue on July 25 or 26.

29Bushes, plants and an outdoor faucet were damaged in the 3900 block of North Murray Avenue on July 25 or 26. The damage to one rose bush was $200, to other plants $300 and the faucet $150.

30A Brookfield male, age not released, was cited for disorderly conduct after a resident reported him breaking glass bottles in the road in the 4100 block of North Lake Drive at 2:20 a.m. July 26.

31A male, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct after yelling profanities at Atwater Beach, 4000 N. Lake Drive, at 10:30 a.m. July 27.

32A purse valued at $350 and contents including glasses, makeup and perfume valued at more than $700 was taken from a car in the 4000 block of North Estabrook Parkway about 3:45 p.m. July 27. A witness saw a male break the car window and take the purse. Damage was $400.

33A woman was caught on surveillance video leaving with a cart of groceries and not paying at Pick 'n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., at 7:49 p.m. July 28. The store estimated the value of the items at $400. She drove off in a dark blue mini van being driven by a man.

34A $500 bicycle secured with a cable lock was taken from the 2100 block of East Capitol Drive on July 28 or 29. The lock was valued at $20.

35A $600 bicycle was taken from the 4100 block of North Prospect Avenue on July 29 or 30. The bike was next to a garage and whoever took it left an older bike it its place.

36A $1,500 bicycle was taken from a garage in the 4400 block of North Bartlett Avenue on July 29 or 30.

37A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia, a pipe with marijuana residue, running a red light and driving without a valid license in the 4200 block of North Oakland Avenue at 8:50 a.m. July 31.

38A cellphone, value not listed, was reported taken from a car in the 3700 block of North Murray Avenue on July 31.

39Items valued at more than $2,500 including a laptop computer, Macbook and jewelry were taken from the 4400 block of North Frederick Avenue between 9:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. July 31. A screen was cut and entry gained through an unlocked window.

40A 21-speed mountain bike valued at $500 was taken from the 3500 block of North Frederick Avenue before 3 p.m. July 31.

41A bicycle valued at $500 and secured to a rack was taken from Shorewood High School, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, before 1 p.m. Aug. 1.

42A "drink table" valued at $100 was taken from a parking garage behind an apartment building in the 4400 block of North Oakland Avenue between 8:30 and 9 p.m. Aug. 1.

WHITEFISH BAY

43About 15-feet of copper piping valued at $15 was taken from the rear of a building in the 400 block of East Silver Spring Drive on July 27 or 28.

44A lawn mower, valued at $500, was taken from an unlocked garage in the 5400 block of Norrth Diversey Boulevard sometime July 28 to Aug. 1.

45Three Milwaukee males were cited for violation of park hours at Klode Park, 5900 N. Shore Drive, at 2:37 a.m. July 30.

· A resident reported two calls from a man with an Hispanic accent telling him federal warrants had been issued for his wife at 7:30 p.m. July 31. He was to call a number with a Texas area code or police would be at his home. A similar scam was reported by a Brown Deer resident.

46A laptop computer valued at $1,200 and $90 cash were taken from the 4700 block of North Woodburn Street between 8 p.m. Aug. 1 and 7 a.m. Aug. 2. Entry was gained through an unlocked side door.

47A man was cited for disorderly conduct after a loud verbal argument with an ex-girlfriend in the 4700 block of North Diversey Boulevard about 5 p.m. Aug. 2.

48A mountain bicycle valued at $50 was taken from a bike rack at Holy Family Church, 4825 N. Marlborough Drive, between 6:30 and 7 p.m. Aug. 2.

49A purse, smartphone and electronic tablet valued at more than $800 were taken from a car in the 100 block of East Fairmount Avenue between 1 and 2:30 a.m. Aug. 4. A window was broken causing more than $200 damage.

NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT

· Firefighters responded to 118 calls, 85 emergency medical and 33 fire/rescue, July 29 to Aug. 4.

50Firefighters were called to a fire on the second floor of a building in the 5200 block of North Mohawk Avenue, Glendale, at 11:25 a.m. July 31. Workers had just applied "combustible floor finish in all the rooms when the front windows blew out with large flames present." There was a lot of smoke and furnace duct work was found "severely damaged." We Energies was notified.

51A natural gas odor was reported at a vacant residence in the 7700 block of North Sherman Boulevard, Brown Deer, at 4 p.m. Aug. 3. All doors and windows were locked and We Energies was called and "locked the meter out." Entry was gained and a gas leak was found in the basement where a line was loose on a dryer.

52A gas leak was reported in the 800 block of East Henry Clay Street, Whitefish Bay, at 11 p.m. Aug. 4. A leak from behind a stove was found in an apartment and the gas was turned off and no injuries were reported.
