A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of marijuana at Doctor's Park, 1870 E. Fox Lane, at 12:34 a.m. March 26. Police found him and a passenger in the back seat of the car which had a strong odor of marijuana. When asked if he had anything in the car he wasn't supposed to, he said no. A baggie with 17 grams of marijuana was found in the back seat along with rolling papers. Both he and the passenger denied it was theirs. After they were told both would be arrested for possession, the man admitted it was his.
A female, not yet 21 and residence not released, was arrested for violation of absolute sobriety after a report of a car speeding over 90 mph in a 55 mph zone in the 8800 block of I-43 at 1:40 a.m. March 27. The car exited I-43 in Mequon and stopped in the 900 block of W. Mequon Road. The female, who smelled of alcohol, admitted speeding but denied drinking and said the only reason she stopped was her engine blew. Her BAC was 0.00. No information was available regarding the speeding violation.
A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving and refusal to take a breath test after he was stopped for speeding at 45 mph in a 25 mph zone at N. Fairway Drive and N. Fairway Circle at 12:33 a.m. March 30. The man, who failed field sobriety tests, admitted having about five drinks.
· A resident reported her identification and her children's were used by someone to fraudulently file federal taxes March 18.
A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after being stopped for speeding in the 8300 block of N. Teutonia Avenue at 9:18 p.m. March 19. There was a strong odor of drugs in the car and the woman was found with .92 grams of marijuana and two glass pipes with residue.
A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, refusal to take a breath test, driving with a suspended license and suspended registration after she was seen driving in the parking lane going 20 to 25 mph in a 40 mph zone in the 7600 block of N. Teutonia Avenue at 12:45 a.m. March 20. She admitted knowing both her license and registration were suspended but didn't realize she would be stopped for driving slowly. Her preliminary BAC was 0.082 and she was taken for a blood draw.
· A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for two counts of disorderly conduct/domestic violence related and damage to property after he began a fight with a male relative, head butting him and then threatened a female relative at 2:40 p.m. March 20. The man kicked a hole in a wall and also removed spark plugs from the woman's car and threw them away.
· A Brown Deer man, age not released, was arrested on two counts of battery/domestic violence related after attacking his wife and adult son at 11:52 p.m. March 20. The man threw a lit cigar, hitting his wife on the neck causing a burn injury and both victims had cuts to their faces. The man had been drinking.
A Samsung Galaxy Tablet valued at $200 was taken from an unlocked car parked at the YMCA, 9250 N. Green Bay Roadbetween 4:20 and 7:15 p.m. March 23. The tablet was in plain view on the back seat.
A woman, age and residence not released, was mailed a citation March 23 for theft of a credit card left at Bruegger's, 383 W. Brown Deer Road, the morning of March 6. About 1 p.m., the card's owner discovered it missing and called the credit card company. She was told it had been used to buy shoes and shirts valued at over $230 at a Milwaukee Kids Foot Locker. Surveillance video at that store was viewed and, after an investigation, the women was identified as an employee at Bruegger's and the citation mailed.
Two females, ages and residences not released, were arrested for possession of marijuana and underage drinking/possession of alcohol and one also for driving while impaired after she was stopped for failure to wear a seat belt in the 300 block of E. Brown Deer Road at 12:10 a.m. March 17. There was a strong odor of marijuana in the car and both females admitted smoking the drug earlier that evening. The driver had bloodshot eyes and failed field sobriety tests.
A Coach wallet valued at $290, with $30 cash and credit cards was taken from a purse hung on the back of a chair at Bar Louie, 5750 N. Bayshore Drive sometime 4:40 to 6:45 p.m. March 19. The owner discovered the theft after receiving a call regarding suspicious charges on one of her credit/debit cards at stores near Bayshore.
A 16-year-old girl, residence not released, was cited for disorderly conduct after she started a fight with another girl during class at Nicolet High School, 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Road at 1 p.m. March 20. The school suspended her for fighting.
A 43-year-old Michigan man was arrested for possession of 6.9 grams of marijuana after a report of marijuana odor in a room at LaQuinta, 5110 N. Port Washington Road at 11:50 p.m. March 20. He and another man were in the room and both admitted smoking the drug, one saying he smoked it because he had a "bad back," and showed police his Michigan medicinal marijuana card. He was told that card was not valid in Wisconsin.
Two Milwaukee women, 27 and 35, and a 36-year-old Brown Deer woman were arrested for escort without a license in separate incidents after police set up "dates" with them on a web site used by prostitutes at the Hilton Inn, 4700 N. Port Washington Road, before midnight March 20 and early morning March 21. In one incident, a 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for party to that crime after driving her friend to the inn.
Two Milwaukee women, 22 and 23, were arrested in separate incidents for escort without a license after police set up "dates" with them on a website used by prostitutes at Days Inn, 5485 N. Port Washington Road., one at 8 p.m. March 20 and one at 8:15 p.m. March 25. In the second incident, a 23-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for party to that crime after attempting to warn the woman not to open the door because it was the police.
Construction power tools, value not available, were taken from a work van at the Radisson Hotel, 7065 N. Port Washington Road, between 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. March 21. The van was open because the worker was going back and forth from the job site to the van.
An 18-year-old Glendale man was cited for carrying a concealed weapon and possession of alcohol on school grounds at Nicolet High School, 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Road, at 11:50 a.m. March 21. The student had a knife with a 5-inch blade and a flask with alcohol in his backpack. He said both items belonged to friends and he was unaware they were in his backpack.
A 74-year-old Glendale man was arrested for drunken driving and refusal to take a breath test after he was seen driving erratically in the 5900 block of N. Port Washington Road at 4:35 p.m. March 22. An officer followed him with lights and siren but the man kept driving. When he finally pulled over and the officer pulled up behind him, he backed into the squad car, but there was no damage. He said he was heading to Good Hope Road at W. Silver Spring Drive — both east west streets that don't converge. Just then his phone rang and he grabbed a garage door opener, put it to his ear and said, "Hello, hello." He was taken for a blood draw.
A 32-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after she began yelling and swearing inside Buffalo Wild Wings, 590 W. Northshore Drive at 11 p.m. March 22. She was with a 31-year-old Milwaukee woman who was arrested on a warrant. Both women were banned from the mall.
A boy, age and residence not released, was cited for carrying a concealed weapon at Nicolet High School, 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Road, at 7:55 a.m. March 24. He had a 2-inch blade knife in his pocket which he said he brought to school to return to a friend. He also had a lighter.
A 51-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for criminal damage to property after a woman called police reporting the man had called her names and then threw her prescription glasses on the floor and stepped on them, causing $150 damage, in the 1400 block of W. Custer Avenue at 11:50 p.m. March 25. The man had left the residence on foot but was located. He said breaking the glasses was just an accident.
A 40-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft, bail jumping and resistance/obstruction after taking items, value not listed, from Men's Wearhouse, 10984 N. Port Washington Road, at 5 p.m. March 20. The man left in a car but an employee got the plate number and the man was arrested at his Milwaukee residence. The man had been arrested more than 25 times and was on parole.
About 400 feet of copper wire belonging to the telephone company was taken from N. Port Washington and W. Bonniwell roads between 10 a.m. March 26 and 2:20 p.m. March 27. The wire was identified as being very thick and a lift truck would have been needed to remove it. According to police, other agencies have reported similar thefts.
A 60-year-old Glendale woman was arrested for drunken driving, with three prior convictions, after an employee alerted police that a customer appeared intoxicated just leaving Kwik Trip, 10360 N. Cedarburg Road, at 9:25 p.m. March 22. The woman's BAC was 0.08 and she was taken for a blood draw.
A 25-year-old Mequon man was arrested for drunken driving and driving with a revoked license in the 14400 block of I-43 at 1 a.m. March 24. He admitted knowing his license was revoked but said he "was working on it." The man, who smelled of alcohol and had a preliminary BAC of .179, was taken for a blood draw.
A resident reported being the victim of a fraud after receiving a call from a man with a Jamaican accent saying an arrest warrant would be issued by the IRS if the resident didn't go to Walmart and purchase a $1,878 money gram about 6:30 p.m. March 24 . The resident did that and then received another call saying more money must be sent. This time the resident called police.
· A Mequon man, age not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related after he pushed and grabbed a female relative at 10:15 a.m. March 26. The man, who was intoxicated, reportedly became angry when the woman took away the TV remote.
· A female, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence related after hitting a female relative about 6 p.m. March 21.
Clothing valued at over $5,000, including six Polo shirts and about $175 in cash were taken from Harley's Men Clothing, 3565 N. Oakland Avenue, overnight March 21 and 22. There was no sign of forced entry.
A Milwaukee man, age not released, was arrested about noon March 23 for theft of at least three registration stickers he cut from license plates in the 3900 block of N. Prospect Avenue and the 2200 block of E. Beverly Road March 22 and 23. The man, who was intoxicated, was asked how long he'd been drinking. He answered, "Since 1976."
· A resident reported getting a letter from the IRS saying his 2013 federal tax forms were under investigation March 24. He contacted the agency saying he had not yet filed his 2013 taxes.
· A resident reported an attempted fraud after receiving a call from a man with "a foreign accent" who said he could fix her computer the morning of March 25. She reported giving him her credit card number and then receiving e-mails demanding she send money via Western Union. She called police and no money was reported sent.
A Shorewood man, age not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct after he was reported standing nude in his doorway and a hallway in the 1600 block of E. River Park Court at 10 a.m. March 26. The man said someone knocked on his door and he needed to answer it. A witness reported no one knocked on his door.
A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving and refusal to take a breath test after stopped for speeding 43 mph in a 25 mph zone in the 200 block of E. Fairmount Avenue at 4:55 a.m. March 22.
A resident reported a suspicious event after a male, "pretending to be on a cell phone" walked up his driveway and attempted to open a door in the 4700 block of N. Cumberland Blvd. about 4:30 p.m. March 21. When the male saw the resident, he ran.
A burglary was reported in the 5300 block of N. Kent Avenue between 4 p.m. March 14 and 12:45 p.m. March 23. Items had been moved around inside the home but nothing was reported taken. Entry was gained through an open and./or unlocked window.
An iPhone valued at $200, keys and a membership card were taken from an unlocked locker at the Jewish Community Center,6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd. between 6:30 and 8 p.m. March 23.
A male, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving after stopped for speeding at E. Fairmount and N. Bay Ridge avenues at 2:44 a.m. March 24. His BAC was 0.14.
Jewelry, value not yet available, was taken from an unlocked residence in the 700 block of E. Lake View Avenue between 11:30 a.m. and 3:50 p.m. March 26. The jewelry was taken from the second floor master bedroom.
An iPod valued at $100 was taken from an unlocked car in a driveway in the 6100 block of N. Kent Avenue overnight March 26-27.
After two suspects, wanted for retail theft and attempting to pass counterfeit $100 bills, were located in the 5700 lock of N. Lydell Avenue and turned over to Glendale police, "numerous counterfeit $100 bills" were found scattered in the 5700 block of N. Bay Ridge Avenue at 6:35 p.m. March 27.
A Lennox air-conditioner unit valued at $1,500 was taken from the side of a residence in the 800 block of E. Courtland Place overnight March 26-27.
A gas main was struck causing a gas leak outside a home under construction in the 3500 block of N. Morris Blvd., Shorewood, about 3:20 p.m. March 24. Homes were evacuated on each side of the residence and vehicle and pedestrian traffic was blocked off. We Energies responded to the scene and repaired the leak. No injuries were reported.
A natural gas leak was reported in an apartment in the 4400 block of W. Dean Road, Brown Deer, at 8:40 p.m. March 25. It was repaired and the building ventilated. No injuries was reported.
Firefighters responded to a call of a dog trapped on a river bank in the 5700 block of N. River Forest Drive, Glendale, at 11:45 a.m. March 28. The dog was lifted off the bank and taken home. No injury was reported.
· Firefighters responded to 129 calls, 101 emergency medical and 28 fire/rescue, March 24 to 30.
