Bank robbery suspect killed in shootout with police in Glendale

One of two suspects in a robbery of Cornerstone Bank, 8607 N. Port Washington Road, Fox Point, was shot and killed in Glendale after the pair fled south on North Port Washington Road this morning.

Glendale Police Public Information Officer Joel Dhein said a description of the fleeing car was broadcast to law enforcement agencies. A squad car from Fox Point and a squad car from River Hills stopped the vehicle at North Port Washington and West Good Hope Road, which is in Glendale. One of the suspects began shooting at officers who returned fire and shot the man.

A second suspect was taken into custody.

Dhein said officers from River Hills, Fox Point, Glendale, the Milwaukee County Sheriff's office and investigators from the Milwaukee County District Attorney's office are working at the two crime scenes.
