BAYSIDE
1A 22-year-old Milwaukee man was cited after driving his car onto the beach and abandoning it after it got stuck in the sand at Doctor's Park, 1870 E. Fox Lane, early morning March 20 and found about 8 a.m. The man called a towing service and then left his car when a friend picked him up.
2A 55-year-old St. Francis man was arrested for drunken driving after he failed to stop for a red light as he attempted to enter Interstate 43 from Brown Deer Road at 3:30 a.m. March 21. He was unable to give a breath sample and was taken for a blood draw.
BROWN DEER
3Two 16-year-old Brown Deer boys were cited for truancy from Jan 25 to March 10 at Brown Deer High School, 8060 N. 60th St., on March 9. One boy had 29 unexcused absences and the other 35. The students and their parents had been notified in February.
4A 53-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for hit and run after he hit a pedestrian in a crosswalk and drove away in the 5500 block of West Brown Deer Road at 8:45 a.m. March 9. The victim, a 21-year-old Milwaukee woman had an injury to her leg. She got his license plate number and the man was arrested in the 8900 block of North 55th Street. He denied hitting the woman saying he drove this route every morning, and she must have seen him and remembered his plate.
5A 20-year-old Waukesha woman was arrested for possession of 0.02 grams of cocaine, drunken driving, driving while suspended and driving north in a south bound lane on a divided highway heading toward a squad car in the 8700 block of North Green Bay Road at 3:19 a.m. March 12. She told police she was glad they stopped her before she killed someone and admitted having a "few beers." Her blood-alcohol content was 0.14.
6A 35-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving and driving while suspended in the 6400 block of West Brown Deer Road at 3:13 a.m. March 14. His BAC was 0.16.
7A 41-year-Milwaukee woman was arrested for theft at Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 3:15 p.m. March 14, her birthday. She was at the store to return items but when the store wouldn't take them back, she took some queen size sheets valued at $100, saying it was her birthday gift to herself.
8A 56-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for violating his no-drink parole order during a routine check in the 8900 block of North Park Plaza Court at 7:15 p.m. March 15. The man admitted having a "few beers and a couple of vodkas." His BAC was 0.15.
9A 26-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for damage to property after he broke a car's windshield in the 4100 block of West Cherrywood Lane at 2:30 p.m. March 18. The driver said the man, whom she knows, blocked her car as she tried to leave with her baby. She said the man jumped onto the trunk, on the roof and then on the windshield breaking it. The man denied it was his fault saying he was trying to get his children's toys out of the trunk when she backed into him "throwing" him onto the trunk and then as she moved the car he was "thrown" again on the roof and then the windshield.

GLENDALE
10A 51-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for a criminal charge of disorderly conduct after he harassed customers and used profane language in front of children at Speedway, 6170 N. Green Bay Ave., at 9 p.m. March 12. He was also intoxicated and given medical assistance.
11The theft of a 2001 Dodge Caravan along with the attempted theft of two other cars was reported at Bentley World Packaging, 4066 N. Port Washington Road, on March 12. Police traced the stolen car after parking tickets were issued on it in Milwaukee on March 13 and 14. The car was towed back to Glendale and the owner had to pay the $100 towing fee. The cars not stolen had damage to their door locks.
12A 45-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for her second drunken driving violation, refusal to take the evidentiary chemical breath test and failure to obey instructions in the 7400 block of North Green Bay Road at 2:30 a.m. March 13. The woman, who had urinated in her pants, was taken to the booking room where she began to undress. When told to stop, she made an obscene gesture and continued undressing.
13A 28-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving after he hit a curb, drove onto a median and landed on top of bushes in the 5500 block of North Port Washington Road at 5 a.m. March 13. He told police he was "just tired" not drunk. His BAC was 0.18.
14A 19-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of 1 gram of marijuana after he was stopped for driving without lights in the 1300 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 9 p.m. March 13. When police asked him to roll down his window, he lowered it two inches. When asked again, another two inches. The driver and his six occupants all admitted to smoking marijuana. The occupants were not cited.
15Two residents reported receiving a call from a woman with "an accent" asking about their Visa credit cards the afternoon of March 15. The caller told one resident that more than $6,000 had been charged to her account and asked for the last four numbers of the card. The resident, who did not give that information, said the caller hung up and when she checked her card, there were no fraudulent charges.
16A resident called police after her 12-year-old son admitted using her credit card to purchase tickets for Jay-Z's concert in Chicago saying a man had threatened him unless he did so in the 2500 block of West Custer Avenue about noon March 15. The boy said the man told him to buy the tickets and when they arrived, put them on the steps of an apartment building in that block. His mother discovered the purchase when she received her credit card bill showing the charge of $521.80.
17A 35-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for fraudulent use of a relative's credit card in the 6800 block of North Glen Shore Drive at 6:30 p.m. March 15. The suspect used the card to withdraw more than $400 some at the Oneida Casino in Green Bay. He said he deserved the money because his dad hadn't helped him.

SHOREWOOD
18A $1,200 laptop computer was taken when left in a bathroom at Shorewood High School Performing Arts Building, 1701 E. Capitol Drive, at 1:45 p.m. March 10. The backpack the computer was in was found in a stall in that bathroom.
19A snow blower and a lawnmower valued at $700 were taken from a garage in the 4400 block of North Ardmore Avenue on March 12 or 13. Damage to a garage door was $200.
• A resident reported receiving a call from his "grandson" saying he was arrested in London, Ontario, Canada, and needed $2,250 the morning of March 17. The grandfather sent the money also paying a $175 transaction fee at Western Union. The father of the boy called police since his son was not in Canada and all was fine. The family was able to get a full refund from Western Union.
20A 24-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for speeding 49 mph in a 30 mph zone in the 3900 block of N. Lake Drive at 8:45 p.m. March 18. He was driving a school bus filled with juveniles and said he was running late. There was no information on where he was heading or what bus company was involved.
21A 38-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after she called 911 twice to report she was a crossing guard and two cars had almost hit her on Frederick Avenue at Capitol Drive at 8:20 a.m. March 18. The woman, who seemed intoxicated and reportedly was not a crossing guard, became belligerent and kicked an officer causing minor injury.

WHITEFISH BAY
22Playground equipment and a railing were damaged and a sign taken from St. Monica's Grade School, 5635 N. Santa Monica Blvd., on March 17 or 18. The cost of the damage was not available.
23A 17-year-old Whitefish Bay girl was arrested for disorderly conduct and possession of tobacco and a 16-year-old Milwaukee girl for disorderly conduct after they got into a fight at Whitefish Bay High School, 1200 E. Fairmount Ave., at 12:15 p.m. March 18.
24A bronze floodlight valued at $500 illuminating the American flag was taken from the Veteran's Memorial, 4900 N. Ardmore Ave., between 5 and 8 p.m. March 18. To remove the light, live wires were cut.
25A 22-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving in the 4600 block of North Lake Drive at 1:45 a.m. March 20. She refused to call a "sober" party and stayed in jail overnight. Her BAC was 0.12.
26A 30-year-old Shorewood man was arrested for possession of 3.1 grams of marijuana and drunken driving in the 4700 block of North Berkeley Boulevard at 2:10 a.m. March 21. His BAC was 0.09.
27A 25-year-old Phoenix man was arrested for drunken driving in the 400 block of East Silver Spring Drive at 2:45 a.m. March 21. His BAC was 0.13.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
Firefighters responded to 95 calls, 63 emergency medical and 32 fire/rescue, the week of March 15 to March 21.
28A fence and the side of a house were reported burning in the 8200 block of North 53rd Street, Brown Deer, at 4:15 p.m. March 19. The fire was extinguished and fire fighters removed charred siding. The owner had been grilling and fell asleep before being awakened by a neighbor. No injuries were reported.
29A fire was reported behind a fireplace causing a hole in the exterior wall which was smoldering as firefighters arrived in the 7800 block of North Club Circle, Fox Point, at 9:15 p.m. March 20. The residents said they had started a fire in the fireplace and their children were in bed upstairs when they heard one of them crying. They found smoke on the second floor and evacuated the house. No injuries were reported and the family stayed with neighbors.
