1A 44-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he used a baseball bat to smash a car's window belonging to a friend in the 200 block of West Brown Deer Road at 3 a.m. May 19.
2A 57-year-old Bayside man was arrested for drunken driving, seventh offense, after he was stopped for driving on a road closed during construction in the 600 block of West Brown Deer Road at 1:15 a.m. May 21.
3A 55-year-old Mequon man was cited for illegal dumping at the Bayside recycling area, 201 E. Fairy Chasm Road at 5 p.m. May 22.
• At least six red gas cans filled with gasoline and valued from $5 to $10 each were taken from garages in the 9300 blocks of North Fairy Chasm Circle and North 67th Street and the 4800 block of West Green Brook Drive on various dates May 5 to May 9. Two other reports of stolen gas cans were reported but dates and times not available.
4Two 18-year-old women and a 16-year-old juvenile all of Brown Deer were cited for underage drinking after a rescue call at the Four Points Sheraton, 8900 North Kildeer Court at 1 a.m. May 9. One of the women had cut her foot on a broken liquor bottle and when the other teens couldn't stop the bleeding they called 911. The teens said they did not go to the Brown Deer High School prom and had a party with other people attending. They had blood-alcohol content levels of 0.12, 0.036 and 0.032. The teens, who cleaned the room before checking out, were turned over to their parents.
5A video game system and games, bowling balls and papers valued at more than $600 were taken from a car in the 7600 block of North 50th Street about 1 a.m. May 11. The car's owner heard his car alarm at that time but didn't call police because he was tired. The bowling balls, bowling shoes and the papers were found on North Fairway Place in Milwaukee about 2 p.m. May 11.
6A 50-year-old Brown Deer man was arrested for battery after hitting a man on the side of his head with a cocktail glass causing a fairly deep cut at Brown Deer Lanes, 4715 W. Bradley Road, at 12:45 a.m. May 16. The two men did not know each other. The suspect just began harassing the victim who sat at the bar with his wife. The suspect was asked for his ID and he reached into his pocket and pulled out a handful of money. His speech was slurred and he denied hitting the victim. His BAC was 0.228.
• Two cars were damaged possibly by projectiles from an air rifle or a BB gun, one near Fairchild Circle and Regent Road and the other in the 7300 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard on May 13 and May 17. Each car had a deep chip in the paint causing damage of about $500 per car.
7A wallet with about $40 cash and credit cards was taken from a dorm room while the owner was packing up for the summer at Cardinal Stritch University, 6801 N. Yates Road, about noon May 14.
8A 55-year-old Glendale woman was arrested for drunken driving after reports of a possible drunk driver in the 7200 block of North Green Bay Avenue at 6 p.m. May 11. Police traced the woman through her license plate to the 2100 block of West Skyline Road. The woman denied, at first, she had driven the car but then admitted it. After failing field sobriety tests she said, "I never should have opened the (expletive) door." Her BAC was 0.21.
9A 14-year-old Glendale boy was referred to juvenile authorities for indecent exposure and sexual assault of a child at Glen Hills Middle School, 2600 W. Mill Road, on May 12. The boy admitted exposing himself on a school bus May 12 and touching a girl inappropriately at a track meet a few weeks before. He said he knew it was wrong but he did it because he "felt like it."
10A 33-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for embezzlement from her employer, Guaranty Bank, 501 W. Northshore Drive, at 9:30 a.m. May 13. The woman admitted transferring more than $3,000 to accounts belonging to her friends and relatives. She said if she saw one of her acquaintances had an overdraft she would transfer money. She also said she was sorry.
11A 48-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft of five bottles of liquor valued at more than $100 from Pick 'n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 5:45 p.m. May 13. The man concealed the bottles in his pants, left the store and drove away. He was stopped by police who found the stolen liquor and other items including electronics and clothing with price tags and anti-theft devices still attached. These items were valued at more than $1,000.
12A 20-year-old Glendale man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia, obstruction for giving a false name, and warrants after his car was stopped in the 5200 block of North Mohawk Avenue at 3 a.m. May 14. There were three passengers in the car which was filled with smoke smelling of marijuana. More than 3 grams of marijuana was found in a number of plastic bag along with a pipe and scale. The man said he gave his brother's name because of the warrants.
13A 41-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, driving after revocation, a warrant, being a felon in possession of a firearm and knowingly fleeing an officer in the 5900 block of North Green Bay Avenue at 2 a.m. May 15. The man stopped for the squad car but as the officer approached, he sped away. A 9 mm handgun and ammunition for that gun were found in the car. In addition, the man still wore a Department of Correction monitor on his ankle.
14A 38-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for drunken driving, fourth offense, lane deviation and driving without a license after speeding 60 mph in a 35 mph zone in the 6200 block of North Port Washington Road at 9 p.m. May 17. His BAC was 0.15.
15An 18-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for strong-armed robbery and two Milwaukee boys, 14 and 16, were taken to the Children's Center for being delinquent after they robbed a man in the 1100 block of West Silver Spring Drive at 10:30 p.m. May 17. The victim, a 40-year-old Glendale man, was walking home carrying two bags of groceries, when an SUV pulled up next to him and two boys got out of the car. One punched the victim knocking him to the ground and both implied they had weapons. They took his groceries and wallet and left in the car driven by the 18-year-old. The victim called police and the car was stopped in the 4600 block of North 19th Street with the groceries and wallet inside.
No reportable incidents.
16A wallet and contents valued at more than $200 was taken from a woman while she shopped at Pick 'n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., about 7:30 p.m. May 15. The woman was carrying her purse and remembered someone bumping her and when she looked her wallet was gone.
17Three thefts of liquor valued at more than $800 were caught on surveillance video at Pick 'n Save, 4145 N. Oakland Ave., May 14, 15 and 18. The suspects were seen pushing carts filled with liquor exiting through the entrance doors.
18An 18-year-old Plover man was arrested for drunken driving after failing to stop and speeding 60 mph in a 25 mph zone on Marlborough Drive at Hampton Road at 2 a.m. May 16. His passenger, a 19-year-old Appleton man, was arrested for underage drinking. The driver's BAC was 0.13.
19A 44-year-old Menomonee Falls man was mailed citations for unreasonable speed, making an illegal Y-turn, suspended registration and driving without a license after he almost hit a man and his child crossing the street in the 4700 block of North Marlborough Drive before noon May 17.
20Two pairs of soccer shoes valued at $80 and $35 were taken from lockers in the boys locker room at Dominican High School, 120 E. Silver Spring Drive, May 17 to 19.
21A 15-year-old Whitefish Bay boy was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia after a pill bottle with marijuana residue was found in his backpack at Whitefish Bay High School, 1200 E. Fairmount Ave., at 2:15 p.m. May 18.
22A 25-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for drunken driving in the 4900 block of North Santa Monica Boulevard at 2:45 a.m. May 19. Her BAC was 0.14.
23A 15-year-old Whitefish Bay girl was arrested for disorderly conduct for fighting with another girl in the 5000 block of North Marlborough Drive at 3:15 p.m. May 21.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
• Firefighters responded to 120 calls, 85 of them emergency medical and 35 fire/rescue, the week of May 17 to May 23.
24A gas line was ruptured causing a gas leak during street construction in the 900 block of East Silver Spring Drive, Whitefish Bay, at 9:40 a.m. May 17. We Energies arrived and secured the line. No damage was reported.
25Firefighters responded to a house fire in the 7700 block of North 51st Street, Brown Deer, at 5:40 a.m. May 19. When they arrived, smoke was pouring out of a bedroom window and the owner was outside with soot on his face. There was major fire damage to the home and basement. The owner said he and a friend were downstairs drinking and smoking until about 2:30 a.m. then went to bed. When he awoke there was smoke in the hallway and he called 911. No injuries were reported. The amount of damage was not available.
26Firefighters responded to an oven fire in the 8000 block of North Edge O Woods Drive, Brown Deer, at 7:35 a.m. May 22. The owner said they were baking cornbread and somehow the oven was turned to the cleaning cycle and the door could not be opened and the corn bread was burning. The oven was unplugged and carried outside and the house ventilated.
