1 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving after he was found asleep in his car stopped on the exit ramp of Interstate 43 at West Brown Deer Road at 2:25 a.m. Oct. 20. When asked why he stopped, he said, "I didn't know I was stopped." The man, who admitted having one beer, failed field sobriety tests and had a BAC of 0.13.
2 A man and woman, ages and residences not released, were arrested for theft of items valued at $231 at Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 12:30 p.m. Oct. 8. They fled the store and when they were stopped, the man had a bottle of stolen cologne in his pocket and the woman had hidden items in her purse and was wearing a pair of stolen jeans.
· A Brown Deer man, age not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence, possession of a short barrel shotgun, alteration of that property by removing the serial number, and two warrants at 1:45 p.m. Oct. 8. A woman who fled the residence called police saying the man pushed and hit her in the face.
3 A black Benelli Nova 12-gauge pump-action shotgun valued at $450 was taken from an unlocked car in the 8100 block of North 55th Street overnight Oct. 9-10.
4 A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving and speeding 52 mph in a 40-mph zone in the 8600 block of North Green Bay Road at 12:50 a.m. Oct. 10. The woman denied drinking but then said she had one beer an hour before. Her BAC was 0.10.
5 A purse and contents valued at $213 was taken when left unattended at Burlington Coat Factory, 8250 N. Green Bay Road, about 2:30 p.m. Oct. 10.
6 A wallet and contents valued at $288 was taken from a purse at TJ Maxx, 9020 N. Green Bay Road, prior to 4:40 p.m. Oct. 10.
7 A woman was arrested for theft from her employer, TJ Maxx, 9020 N. Green Bay Road, at 7 p.m. Oct. 10. She admitted taking about $1,000 cash by making fraudulent returns and also taking clothing valued at over $500, keeping some for herself and giving the rest to family and friends.
8 A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for theft of Green Bay Packers and Wisconsin Badgers items valued at $313 from Kohl's, 9060 N. Green Bay Road, at 4:15 p.m. Oct. 11. The woman hid the items in a Old Navy bag. When stopped, she admitted the theft.
9 A pressure washer and a leaf blower valued at more than $800 were taken from outside a residence in the 8000 block of North 66th Street between 7 and 11:15 p.m. Oct. 11 and reported at 1 a.m. Oct. 12.
10 A barstool valued at $115 was taken from Brown Deer Lanes, 4515 W. Bradley Road, prior to 1:30 a.m. Oct. 13.
11 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for disorderly conduct/domestic violence, after hitting a woman in the face at 9:15 p.m. Oct. 13. The woman told police the man became angry when she told him he had to leave. The man said the woman started it by throwing water in his face.
12 Over 1,500 feet of lead-lined utility cable belonging to AT&T and valued at $10,000 was reported taken from the west side of North Lake Drive stretching north from Green Tree Road to Daisy Lane at 10:15 a.m. Oct. 3. When the theft occurred was not known. Similar thefts were reported in Lake County and surrounding counties in Illinois.
13 Two women and a girl, ages and residences not released, were arrested for disorderly conduct, and one of the women also for possession of marijuana, after a report of a fight outside Nicolet High School, 6701 N. Jean Nicolet Road, at 2:42 p.m. Oct. 3. Earlier, the girl, a student, had called her sister, one of the women, saying the boy had sent her threatening text messages. The women drove to the school where they confronted the boy. The marijuana, weight not available, was in the woman's possession.
14 Two Milwaukee males, ages 17 and 18, were arrested on five counts of criminal damage to property after breaking into cars in the 5600 and 5800 blocks of North Bayshore Drive and the 5700 block of North Port Washington Road at 4:15 a.m. Oct. 4. At least 10 cars were entered about that time in and around Bayshore Town Center and the park-and-ride lot.
15 Two Milwaukee boys, ages 10 and 14, were arrested for theft of clothing valued at about $300 from Kohl's, 5650 N. Bayshore Drive, at 6:50 p.m. Oct. 4. The boys took the items into a fitting room and walked out of the store with the items, leaving the tags behind.
16 About 12 cars, both locked and unlocked, were entered and in some cases items were taken in the 3300 block of West Good Hope Road, the 4600 block of North Port Washington Road, the 5400 block of North Dexter Avenue and the 5500 block of North Shasta Drive on Oct. 4 or 5. Reported taken was a $200 smartphone and two car stereos valued at about $200 each. Cars had damage of about $250.
17 A 40-year-old woman, residence not released, was arrested for theft of jewelry and clothing valued at $700 from Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 4 p.m. Oct. 6. The woman was arrested after attempting to return a bracelet she had just stolen. Other items were found in her pockets and a large purse.
18 A 44-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested Oct. 7 for disorderly conduct and carrying a concealed weapon after causing a disturbance at Pick 'n Save, 1735 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 6:15 p.m. Oct. 6. The man became disorderly when he tried to pick up a prescription and was told the pharmacy was closed. He then told manager he would return and "take it to the next level." He left and as he got into his car, an employee reported seeing a gun. The man was arrested the next day in the drive-thru. Two pistols were in his car.
19 An employee reported the theft of more than $400 taken from her purse that was in a drawer at Solly's, 4629 N. Port Washington Road, on Oct. 6.
20 More than 50 cellphones together valued at about $40,000 were taken during an armed robbery at Radio Shack, 5520 N. Port Washington Road, at 9 p.m. Oct. 7. Two males, one with a gun, entered the store and made the manager unlock a cabinet with the most expensive cellphones. They then forced employees into a bathroom and had them tie each other up. They fled through a back door.
21 Jewelry valued at $5,200 was taken from the 2100 block of West Applewood Lane between Sept. 3 and Oct. 4 and reported Oct. 9. Workers were in the home during that time.
22 A 21-year-old woman, residence not released, was arrested for escort without a license, after police set up a "date" on a known website used by prostitutes, at La Quinta Inn, 5110 N. Port Washington Road, at 11:30 p.m. Oct. 9. A 43-year-old man, residence not released, who had registered the room was arrested for party to the crime of escort without a license.
23 A car, make and model not available, and a laptop computer valued at $3,000 were taken from the 200 block of West Apple Tree Road on Oct. 9. The residents said they had guests in the home. After the guests left, the residents discovered that the car and computer were gone. The car was returned Oct. 11.
24 An employee's wallet was taken while she worked at Walgreens, 6916 N. Port Washington Road, on Oct. 10. Her stolen credit cards were used to charge more than $250.
25 A 52-year-old man, residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving after he was seen driving the wrong way on a divided highway and then hit a fire hydrant in the 6900 block of North Port Washington Road at 4:30 a.m. Oct. 10. His BAC was 0.15.
26 A 33-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for driving while impaired and speeding 55 mph in a 40-mph zone in the 3000 block of West Good Hope Road at 10 a.m. Oct. 10. The woman admitted using illegal drugs, including heroin. She failed field sobriety tests.
27 A 55-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for theft of sunglasses valued at $370 at Pearle Vision, 695 W. Silver Spring Drive, at 11 a.m. Oct. 10.
28 A 43-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested Oct. 11 for robbery with an implied weapon at Chase Bank, 210 W. Capitol Drive, at 3:40 p.m. Oct. 10. The man, a known suspect, entered the bank and implied he was armed and left with money. He was arrested Oct. 11 by Milwaukee police during a car jacking.
29 Nine parking tickets issued by Bayshore Town Center, 5800 N. Bayshore Drive, were voided after a computer was hacked Oct. 11.
30 A 26-year-old woman, residence not released, was arrested for theft of items valued at $329 from Boston Store, 5701 N. Lydell Ave., at 9:25 p.m. Oct. 11. She had hidden the items in her purse and a bag and exited the store.
· A Glendale resident was told he was the victim of a scam after he sent over $10,000 via Western Union to an unknown source to pay fees because he had won $800,000 in a lottery Oct. 16. The man, described as "elderly," sent the money in various amounts over a number of weeks.
31 A tablet computer and a digital media player together valued at $750 and some jewelry were taken during a burglary in the 1600 block of West County Line Road on Oct. 8.
32 A man armed with a knife threatened an employee and demanded money at Lakeshore Mobil, 2521 E. Capitol Drive, at 9:44 p.m. Oct. 13. The man, who got away with about $180, was wearing a scarf over his face.
33 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving and refusal to take a breath test after he was stopped for driving without headlights in the 3700 block of North Oakland Avenue at 1:50 a.m. Oct. 13.
34 A resident reported that a known person entered her home and took her TV in the 4400 block of North Wildwood Avenue about 12:30 p.m. Oct. 15.
35 A burglary took place in the 4000 block of North Downer Avenue between 4:30 p.m. and 7:40 p.m. Oct. 16. A rear window was smashed to gain entry but nothing reported taken.
36 Two males were seen attempting to enter a van, causing over $800 damage, in 600 block of East River Park Court at 6:25 p.m. Oct. 17.
37 A wallet and purse valued at $20 were taken during a burglary in the 5700 block of North Shore Drive between 11 p.m. Oct. 13 and 6 a.m. Oct. 14. Entry was gained through an unlocked front door.
· A resident reported someone attempted to use her credit card to purchase items on BestBuy.com on Oct. 15, but the card company stopped the transaction.
· A resident reported that his Social Security number and date of birth were used to attempt to change his credit card address to someone in Ontario, Canada, on Oct. 15.
38 Two bags of dog feces were found on a car in a driveway in the 2000 block of East Glendale Avenue at 8 a.m. Oct. 16.
39 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, with two prior convictions, refusal to take a breath test, open intoxicants, no proof of insurance, failure to wear a seat belt and defective taillights in the 1200 block of East Henry Clay Street at 2 a.m. Oct. 17. The man posted bail of $850 and was released from jail at 4 p.m.
· Nine bicyclists were warned for driving without lights in and around the village after 9 p.m. until early morning Oct. 17, 18 and 19.
40 A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for driving while impaired, possession of drug paraphernalia, cocaine and heroin (with intent to deliver) after a call regarding a welfare check of someone in a car in the 4900 block of North Oakland Avenue at 2:30 a.m. Oct. 17. A lighter, syringe, glass pipe and a spoon were found in the car. The woman was taken for a blood draw.
41 A woman, age and residence not released, was arrested for theft during The Divine Consignment event at the Jewish Community Center, 6255 N. Santa Monica Blvd., at 3 p.m. Oct. 18. The woman had taken 19 items — including pants, shirts and scarves — valued at more than $170.
42 A man, age and residence not released, was arrested for drunken driving, resisting/obstruction, driving without a valid license, non-registration and a felony warrant after he was stopped for speeding in the 4600 block of North Estabrook Parkway at 4:40 a.m. Oct. 19. His BAC was 0.12.
43 A resident reported seeing juveniles jump out of a silver station wagon and grab alcohol hidden in bushes in the 700 block of East Day Avenue at 6:20 a.m. Oct. 20.
NORTH SHORE FIRE DEPARTMENT
· Firefighters responded to 136 calls, 109 emergency medical and 27 fire/rescue, Oct. 14 to Oct. 20.
· Firefighters responded to a vehicle fire in a driveway in the 6100 block of North Bridgewood Lane, Glendale, at 9:55 a.m. Oct. 17. The trunk and passenger side of the vehicle was found fully engulfed in flames. After the fire was extinguished, paint supplies, including thinner, were found in the trunk. The cost of the damage was not listed.
