For fourteen years I wrote a column about local people who had interesting professions, inspiring volunteer jobs, unusual hobbies or amusing experiences. Called "Name-Dropping," my column appeared monthly in the Mequon-Thiensville Courant, which eventually became part of the Journal Sentinel's NOW section.
All those years I was also writing fiction, submitting each manuscript to literary agents and/or publishers and HOPING. And receiving rejection slips.
I am proud to announce I am officially a debut author! My romantic suspense story, BURIED HEART, came out in October. (My pen name is A. Y. Stratton.) The story takes place in Milwaukee and on an archeological ruin in the Mayan rain forest. I now tell everyone I am multiply rejected, but poised to be an overnight success.
On Tuesday, Dec 15, at 7 p.m. I will be talking about my book (and signing copies too) at Borders Books, 8705 N Port Washington Road in Fox Point. My writer friend from Kenosha, Casey Clifford, will be there too, signing her debut novel, a thrilling romance called Black Ribbon Affair.
We hope you will drop by to say hi.
